I currently live in Irvine CA overlooking a golf course. Here's how I got here.....
After divorcing in 1996, I remarried a terrific guy in 1998. He is Anthony Torr, who is a retired Captain with American Airlines. We met at the tennis club. Shortly after marrying, we moved aboard our boat in Newport Harbor in Newport Beach CA. and bought a home in North Palm Beach, FL on the water. We spent the next six years living in Florida during the winter months and California during the summer months. My clothes and furniture lived in Florida. Quite an experience for a farm girl from Southern Illinois.
We have had the good fortune to travel on airline passes to numerous countries. To name a few, we've been to France, Italy, England, Portugal, Ireland, Turkey, and Buenos Aires. Domestically we've spent time in Boston, New York, Chicago, Charleston and the Pacific Northwest.
Four years ago, we purchased our current home in Orange County, sold our home in Florida, and traded our power boat for a sail boat. As you might have guessed by now, we love the water and most or our entertaining is on the boat. In spite of the traffic and crowds, I continue my love affair with Southern California.
I may not make the reunion because I am recovering from treatments associated with ovarian cancer. After 5 months of chemotherapy I just returned from Washington D.C., where I had a very specialized surgery/chemotherapy regimen for 2 1/2 weeks. I'm now home and recovering nicely and I am once again cancer free.
I will be very disappointed if I can't get to the reunion, but am looking forward to hearing about all of you and what has been going on in your lives. |
