Got back from Miller after racing this weekend and have some new videos up. Only got passed by one car all day, $200k Porsche GT2, that could stay there. A white Porsche I was pushing hard lost it in video 1 at 14:05, and spun out in front of me. That is on one of the videos. Never saw him again that heat. Must have messed his shorts. Video six is with an instructor driving. He was taking it easy on my car since he had never driven it, but let he it get passed twice. See: http://www.youtube.com/user/dgpgrove

Another great job on the 40th reunion..... see how many of us will be in depends and in wheelchasirs at the 45th reunion.

Riding the bicycle back to Carbondale yesterday was quite an ordeal. First of all I paid the price for having TOO MUCH FUN Saturday evening. Got on my bike about 10:30 AM and had a flat at around 11 AM South of Wamac. Rear tire of course. Instead of taking Rt. 51 back I opted to head on county and backroads over to Nashville and pick up Rt. 127 which is a much more bike friendly highway with wide paved shoulders. The HEAT damn near did me in though.... but hey made it.

I am an Assistant Food Service Administrator for the Federal Bureau of Prisons at Federal Correctional Institute located in Talladega, AL.

My wife of 31 years is Jo Lynne (Johnson) of Fairfield, IL. She is an Optometric Assistant. We have two children: Jennifer Crockett(28) and Julie Beck (24). Julie is the mother of our two grandchildren; Billy (2) and Bryan (2 mos.)

Jo Lynne and I live in Oxford, AL. and will be looking forward to retirement soon.

Hi everybody!! I am a Quayle again. It has been an exciting ride but I think I like my first life the best!! I am still teaching with Don at CJHS in Centralia. We are all soon retiring in the next 3-4 years. My family has grown and left the nest (Kate 22, Tom 20, Andy 19) and I decided to leave, too. I missed the last few reunions, but don't plan on missing this one!! Don has assured me I will again fit right in with the wild bunch. Here I am. See if you remember me. Candy

This will probably come as a big surprise, since we haven't chatted in a long while but I talked to Mark and Maureen about a week ago shortly after they attened their reunion. That's not news but what was a bit of a shock to them was that several members of the class of 71' approached them with inquiries about my health and well-being. The rumor seemed to be that I had retired from the Navy (true) and was seriously ill. (VERY UNTRUE) I am doing about as well as could be expected for a "slightly" out of shape 51 year old with a 12 year old daughter. Although I retired about 14 months ago, I am now working with a veterans consortium that finds attorneys to represent veterans before the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. And looking forward to 35th reunion. Anyway, if anyone should inquire, rumors of my demise are greatly exagerated.

Beyond that, I must report that mom and dad are well settled in Washington IL with Maureen keeping a watchful eye over them from about a mile away. Kaitlyn will be going into 8th grade and life is reasonably good when trains aren't blowing up in downtown Baltimore. (Commute from Annapolis to DC sucks tho.}

Please give best to all the 68 grads, especially Danny, and Melissa. Hope to see Centralia sooner than 03, but with folks up north it may be harder than usual.

It is with great sadness that I need to let you know that Mom & Dad will be movng to Washington Illinois on 2 May.  This is where Maureen and her boys are and a lot closer to Mark and his family who are  in Macomb.  I will be in town to help with the move - they have been packing for some time so that part will be easy, but if anybody wants to drop by and say bye to them (or hi to me) please do so.  While I'll be back for the reunions, I will miss the Holiday tournament and just running into folks when out and about at Christmas.   Mom and Dad have been there for over 38 years and 16 Magnolia will always be "home."  [The Old Myers Place??]  Of course I can't forget "flocked Chrismas trees" Danny pulling up in the jeep or Curt Knolhoff standing on my front porch to tell me not to see Martha Brink anymore.  (Ah the excesses of youth.)  I guess the one good thing is that when we close the door for the last time I will have great good fortune of having both of them with me to drive north with.

One additional bit of news is my retirement.  On 1 May I'm out of the Navy after 24 years.  New e-mail will be DHMLaw606@aol.com.  See you in  '03 if not sooner.

Just wanted to take the time to tell you what a good time Chuck and I had at the reunion. I know all of you worked really hard and you probably don't get the thanks that you deserve. Tell Lonnie and Myra,Margaret, Melissa, and whoever else thanks from us. As we say here in Texas---YOU DONE GOOD!!!!!

It really helped that the weather and the mosquitos cooperated too!

As I mentioned to Don on Wednesday evening after the reunion, you might think of a brunch on Sunday morning for the next reunion. I have a friend whose class did that and it was a nice end to the weekend.

Thanks again, McKelvey and I had a nice exit from Centralia as the temperatures neared 100. It is nice to be home again and out of the humidity. I don't know how you take it.
